Multiple Personalities vs. Fashion Fantasy

Today I found myself with a few free hours (lie lie, schoolwork ignored) to sit before the glorious looking box and flip through channels.

With no homework, night company, plans or parties to go to and my typical shows not on I stumbled upon a new show I've heard of and planned to watch but never got around to it.

Mayhaps you've heard of it 'United States of Tara'?

Well they had a full marathon of it on.

I was pleasantly amused which led wonderfully into full gut-busting enjoyement.

Still as I watched my brain turned to fashion and I pondered at a curious thought. How amazing it was that with each change in clothing and demeaner this woman became a totally different person.

Oh sure, to an extreme of the apron and neat bob transitioning to a Betty Crocker idol or the mini-skirt and tube top revealing the wicked eternal 16 year old...

But still, is that not what I do everyday with clothing and accessories and ideas?

I like creating personalities and time periods to face the world everyday,  imagining what they would look like at the most poignent stage of their personality.

Most times it still needs improvement but there are other times I'll catch myself in the mirror and just...j'adore.

I think there's a fair amount of healthy psychology in being able to be someone else for a few hours and have a different view on the world.

Sometimes it's so simple and I want nothing more than to be the...the classic girl in the circa 60' polo ads - cotton comfortable, fresh faced, minimal and pretty.

Other times it is an extreme,

a demanding level of decadence that needs makeup done to death, too much jewelry,  layers and layers of pretty.

It brings a little bit of wonder to a world that can be sadly lacking at times.

I also think it feeds that little crazy part of myself that never wants to be defined or boxed in. Personally I always want to be that girl...you know the one, the one you and your friends talk about.

Yeah...that's me.

Love ya like crazy
